With the approval of the 2025-2026 budget, the Township Environmental Services Department is now moving ahead with the integration of the Zone 1 Water Systems.  As many in our community are aware, this is a legacy project which began in 2014.  The integration has been part of the Township Strategic Plans and budgets for 10+ years and has been discussed by several terms of Council. The integration of the systems will ensure safe and reliable drinking water for all residents served through the integrated Zone 1 Water system. During the May 28th Council Meeting, Environmental Services Director Michelle Jakobi provided a high-level overview of the current timelines for the project, which will commence with appointment booking for water meter installation.  The Township has retained WAMCO Waterworks and Municipal Products to complete the installations.

.Over the next 6–8 weeks, water meter installations will be concentrated in the following areas.

• Cathedral Pines Road

• Pine Lane

• Pine Point

• Pine Ridge Trail

• Pine Springs Road

• Pine Hill

It is anticipated that properties in the Cathedral Pines Road, Pine Lane & Pine Point

areas will connect to the Municipal Horseshoe Highlands Drinking Water System

October 1, 2025, while properties in the areas of Pine Ridge Trail, Pine Springs Road

and Pine Hill are anticipated to connect in early 2026.

Just so you know, once the water meter installation is started in the above areas, ONLY those properties in this current phase will receive direct information regarding appointment booking through a mailed notice from the Township.

A more detailed report on the technical aspects of the project and the associated

workplan, including a phasing schedule for the remaining areas, will be provided at a later date.
